Woodland Burial - Chapel Service and Graveside Ceremony - Bristol - 2009. Nixie worked together with me in 2009 to put together a funeral ceremony for my mother. I didn't want a formal, religious ceremony but I wanted the service to be imbued with nature and spirituality. I also wanted it to be a celebration of my mother's life and to leave everyone feeling as positive as possible. Nixie struck the perfect balance. She conducted the funeral service beautifully then said a few well-chosen words at the graveside. Many of the guests said that it was one of the most positive, uplifting funerals they had attended. Nixie helped to make a very difficult occasion more bearable, both in the planning and on the day, and I was delighted with how everything went.  I wholeheartedly recommend her services. Wedding Ceremony & Handfasting - July 2022 - Cornwall. Where do I start? Nixie is absolutely fantastic. We first met her over 5 years ago and finally had our ceremony on 16th July 22. She was so warm and welcoming from the very start and made us both feel at ease. Wedding Ceremony & Handfasting - Sugarloaf Barn, Wales - August 2021. Nixie is simply amazing. Nixie conducted our marriage ceremony last weekend (14.08.2021) and we couldn't have asked for a more thoughtful, caring, and superb person to have married us! Nixie spent so much time before the wedding getting to know more about our lives, learning about our journeys, and designing a ceremony that was totally unique to us. Nixie was open and transparent throughout, always reminding us that the ceremony was ours and to offer to change anything we were unsure about. Through Nixie, we learned about other symbolic elements to a     ceremony such as hand fasting and jumping the threshold. We decided to do these at our wedding as well as exchanging rings, and we were so delighted to have such meaningful symbolism tied into our ceremony (our guests loved it too). Nixie's  charisma and beautiful personality radiated good energy throughout the ceremony and the rest of the day. We feel very lucky to have been married by her and  wouldn't have changed anything! Home Funeral Guide - North Devon - June 2017. Nixie has a heart of gold, cancelling plans last minute to help us fulfil mum's last wishes to pass away at home tended by family only. The conditions were incredibly challenging as this was during a heat wave but Nixie remained calm, collected and professional throughout the five days before the burial - visiting every day, twice a day - that's a hell of a lot of ice packs! Nixie has the knowledge, experience and sensitivity to allow death to happen in a very natural way. The process of laying out mum's body aided by Nixie was an incredible gift. It fundamentally changed my attitude towards death. Death has become something alive with magic, poetry and intimacy. Nixie will always be an incredibly important person in my life. Funeral Arrangement and Celebrancy - North Devon - 2017. When my wife passed away a friend recommended Nixie as celebrant. I couldn't be more grateful. Nixie spent a great deal of time getting to know my wife through me and some of my wife's close friends. She put together a ceremony that was exactly what I hoped for and, most importantly, that I'm sure my wife would have wanted. Naming Ceremony for Aden - Mells, Somerset - 2016. Nixie helped us to plan our little boy's naming ceremony last year and then led the best occasion we could have imagined. She spent loads of time helping us to organise the details, deciding on the exact wording for the ceremony, making sure it was all just right, and was even up a ladder on the day helping to decorate the hall before the family arrived. New Home Blessing - Bristol - 2010. Nixie led a house blessing ceremony in my new home, and her thoughtfulness, warmth, humour and generosity made it a very memorable, relaxed, special and happy occasion – all I’d hoped for and more. Nixie and I had talked about my ideas for the occasion and she used these and added her own, which fitted perfectly. She also created a beautiful ‘order of service’ for keeping. Nixie knew that one of my friends had quite particular religious beliefs and this was respectfully embraced within the ceremony. Graveside Burial Ceremony - Wells Cemetery - 2012. My sister and I saw Nixie to discuss the burial the day after Mum died.  Nixie has a gentle approach, she was so kind and supportive and took time to understand what we wanted.  Afterwards, she emailed me what she planned to say and asked me to change anything I wanted.  I didn't because it was just right - for me, my sister and, importantly, for the memory of our mother.  And on the day of the burial, Nixie was again kind and gentle, and between us, we even managed to laugh.
